There is a known bug on AO3 where not everything available will show up when you select the fandom. The form will still accept it if it is copy and pasted exactly from the tagset.

The optional tags field is only for adding additional freeforms. You must copy and paste them from the tagset in order for AO3 to match them. Anything in the optional field that isn't a nominated freeform tag will be ignored by matching.

During testing, we uncovered an Ao3 bug where a couple of tags that were too long to work as freeforms somehow got through the nominations process, but would not show up in the tagset even though they were approved by us. If you run into an error on a long tag that says, "These freeform tags in your offer are not allowed in this challenge: [freeform]" please contact the mods at hurtcomfortexmod@gmail.com and we will try to provide an alternate tag. We apologize for this but we are not sure what else we can do since these too-long nominations cannot be removed.

Dear HurtComfortExchange Letters

Once you've signed up for the HurtComfort Exchange, you may want to post a letter. These are entirely optional, but can be fun! The link to the signup form is Coming Soon!

Letters are for the person assigned to you, or anyone who might want to make you a treat. They should at least contain your signup information such as fandoms, relationships, and freeforms, and are a good place to fill out your requests by adding more details, likes/dislikes, and so on. There's a space in the sign up form for a link to your letter, so if you post a letter after signing up but before signups close, we encourage you to go back and edit your form with a link. You may also link to a placeholder letter such as a dreamwidth post that you plan to go back and edit, but please have these ready as soon after assignments go out as you possibly can.

It is a good idea to copy your signup information, including DNWs, to your letter. However, if a DNW is in your letter but not also in your signup then there is no guarantee anyone writing or drawing for you will see it to avoid it and only DNWs in your signup information are considered binding.

Letters can be posted to DW, LJ, Tumblr, your Wordpress blog, google docs, wherever anyone can go to read them. When you have a letter up, link it here in the comments, along with a) the name you signed up with, and b) a list of the fandoms you requested.

As a note, there was some last minute changes to the signup information. We have dropped the number of required offers to three unique fandoms and one relationship per fandom to match the number of required requests. We hope this will make it easier for people to participate.
