Depending on which part you're looking for as the hurt or comfort

Something along those lines? It was unclear if the soulbond itself was supposed to be the hurt, such as "Oh no I was in the drift with someone and now we can't unlink which is taboo, how will we live like this?"
Or "I felt extreme empathy towards someone for an implied outside hurt, and now we're soulbonded which is a good thing and comforts them."
Or if it was meant to be "Oh no I felt a strong connection with my worst enemy, how could that happen? And now we're soulbonded."

Knowing which specifically you're looking for may make it easier to come up with better phrasing?

The idea is that the soulbond is (or allows) the comfort, and that both parties are suffering in similar ways, which causes the soulbond.
