Whoops, I'm the martyr4martyr person, what I mean is the trope of when there's two characters and a situation that demands one person to sacrifice themself, and character A sacrifices themself for character B, and then character B says "no, screw that, I'm sacrificing myself for you instead!!" Some notable examples of this trope include: Madoka Magical, The Locked Tomb Trilogy, debatably Revolutionary Girl Utena, and that one Tumblr comic of two people trying to jump in front of a gun for each other at the same time. I hope this helps! Sorry, is this too specific? I can't think of a more suscinct way to phrase this as a freeform but maybe someone better at words can
