If it’s a fic that’s set post-Ramsay, I realize/expect that Theon’s trauma from that experience will feature in some way, but I’d rather not have very graphic flashbacks, etc, and if that means setting the fic further in the future, that’s totally fine by me. I love Asmodeus. I would love to see him broken and bleeding and needing assistance, and Thuan being there for him. I would also love to see Thuan helping Asmodeus deal with all his past trauma. On the other hand, I would love to see Asmodeus actually managing to be helpful and kind with an injured Thuan or Ai Nhi... while also planning the vicious, brutal, and likely public murder of whoever hurt them.

Or something with Asmodeus and Berith figuring each other out, finding where their sibling relationship goes now (or sketching out more of how it went in the past!). They Fell together; was one of them more injured in the Fall? Did one handle matters better than the other? What did they go through that broke Asmodeus so cold while Berith just decided to peace on out of the whole situation? Or what happens later, when Berith is dying and Asmodeus can't fix it? He fixes everything; he's an incredible spell-worker; he invented ways to raise the dead. How does he handle it? How does Berith handle it? Has she forgiven what's come before? Do they fight about what's to come next? Do they have intense theological debates? Does someone try to hasten Berith's death to get to Asmodeus and he just loses it? Or wants to lose it but Thuan convinces him that actually helping his sister takes precedence?

I adore these characters and their messy, complicated relationships. If it feels halfway true to the book and puts them through misery and shows them stumbling together out the other side, you have earned my love.

A general note that the tagset is just Too Much for my brain to parse; if a tag tickles your fancy and fits the characters but I didn't select it, go for it! I just can't handle them all, it causes too much psychic distress for something that's supposed to be fun.

General likes: found family, cuddles, queer characters, werewolves (mostly packs and the found family that tends to go with them, but also the fuzzy wolf forms), deep character dives, complicated relationships, relationships built on mutual respect and trust, angst with a happy ending, hurt/comfort, biology/xenobiology, pregnancy (including mpreg; see also that xenobiology thing); bleeding from psychic injuries; bleeding in general

If you really really want to speak to my id, give Marvelous a healing factor, let him get beaten to hell and back protecting his crew, and then let them cuddle him and make things better. (Including have one of the others go feral when they think Marvelous is actually in danger of dying/maybe dead--Doc or Ahim just unleashing on someone because they think Marvelous just got himself killed defending them would be Great. I OT6 the heck out of these guys, though feel free to have it be platonic or to have smaller pairings among the crew. Anything with them having adventures is wonderful. I love Sammy. I love Sammy probably more than he deserves, but man, he's just such a fascinating and tragic figure. His addiction to the ink; his loss of himself; his focus on his music; his desperate dive into a religion that he seems to know, on some level, won't save him, but he also can't let go... there's so much good in canon to play with, and so much more that can be done! Is this an AU where they escape and have to actually Deal With Matters? Deal with having mortal fleshy bodies again? Does Sammy have trouble eating because of the ink addiction that turned everything So Wrong after they come back? Does someone or all of them come back not quite human anymore? How do they deal with all the horror they put each other through in the loop? Is this an AU where Henry manages to change things but they're still all stuck in the ink and suffering together? I am happy with any of it!

I tend to prefer Sammy as some variety of queer, even when he's paired with Susie (and there's some more hurt, the fact he didn't stand up for her strongly enough!). I also tend to imagine him from an evangelical background but who broke with the church and then has fallen back into that childhood language as the ink rewrites him. Feel free to take things in different directions, though! I just love these characters hurting together and helping each other out the other side.

As you can see from the tags, I would basically like anything that happens to Tharkay and Laurence in the books to happen to them with more explicit romantic feelings. Or maybe something happens to them while they're up in Scotland (does Laurence hit his head and gets amnesia again? Cindered Shadows left me with a deep yearning for House Leaders Working Together. The mood here is presenting a united front even if you couldn’t be less united, learning or relearning to trust in the face of an immediate threat, and accidentally unveiling secrets that change your understanding of each other; if it leads to reconciliation, great! But tbh I’d be just as happy with a temporary alliance that is destined to fall apart once canon catches up to them – the tragedy of three characters who were this close to being on the same page, but ultimately missed their chance is a big part of the appeal to me.

Extremely sweet ship with the potential for some serious bite once you start digging into their respective issues (pre-timeskip Dimitri and Mercedes are perfectly poised to enable each other’s worst tendencies, in this essay I will). Knight/knave pairings own my entire heart!! I love their Azure Moon ending to bits (they get a retirement inn, how cute is that?!), and with so many of Ingrid's romantic supports having her as the nagging girlfriend, it's really nice to have one where *she* gets to be a bit of a mess for a change. I’d be especially interested in post-canon for this one, whether in the immediate aftermath of the war or way down the line (cannot overstate how much I like the retirement inn), as well as anything that taps into the danger inherent to their chosen paths.

Honestly, Azama & Hinoka are probably my favorite Lord & Retainer duo: their worldviews are so wonderfully at odds, and their support chain gets to me every time ("I thought it would be interesting to see what you would do with your life." just fuck me up). I also just really love Hinoka hurt/comfort - Corrin’s disappearance clearly hit her hard, and the years she spent putting herself in dangerous situations out of anger + her determination to do the impossible + the fact that of all the Lords, she’s the only one whose retainers start with basically no fighting ability so she HAS to be on the front lines is endlessly interesting to me.

I didn't think to nominate Setsuna because I really wanted the focus to be on these two, but for the record I love her and won't be put off if she's along for the ride.

Sakura, Hana and Subaki are much simpler: I love Hana and Subaki remaining united in their drive to protect Sakura despite being at odds in everything else, I think they're a fun trio to throw at any given obstacle, and I find Sakura's highkey sensitivity to be delicious delicious angst fodder.

I am a simple fan of simple needs, and what I simply need is Kagero whump. I’m just!! Characters who’ve had Duty thrust upon them and carry it with quiet stoicism own my entire heart, okay.

Ryoma & Kagero is – I mean if you’ve read the previous section it should be clear by now that I have a thing for Retainers And Their Lords, especially on the Hoshidan side, and Kagero insisting on maintaining proper distance so Ryoma has to go out of his way to reach her even though he’s not the most approachable fellow himself makes a wonderful combo.

Kagero/Orochi hits just the right note of gloom/sunshine for me, and I melt every time I remember “I suppose I'll just have to carry your smile with me in life.” / “Your doom and gloom got me through my childhood with a smile on my face.” (How many times do you see gloom framed as a positive in gloom/sunshine ships, not enough times if you ask me.) I’m not usually that into childhood friends to lovers, but this is a very happy exception.

Tbh Orochi is my favorite Fates character for being both a bundle of sunshine and a bit of a troll, and her efforts to make the people around her smile warm my heart every time. V poly with Orochi at the center but Kagero hurting would be incredible, but honestly even without the poly angle I’d be pleased as punch to just get An Interaction between the three.

I played the game for the first time last month, and of course of all possible units I immediately latched onto ‘royal twins and their ex-gladiator bodyguard’. There’s so much about that set-up that’s appealing to me especially when it comes to h/c tropes – kids in peril! Kids who have already been through some serious shit but are still trying to put on a brave face! (... kids who were permanent fixtures in my party and ended the game as powerhouses, tbh, ngl that helped too.) No-nonsense girl & sensitive boy! And then there’s Ogma, resigned to the violence and used to working alone and quietly determined to fulfill his promise to Lorenz and his duty to King Talys (how did that one-man rescue even go, man?).

I was definitely thinking of their time on the run during chapter 1-4 when I picked the freeforms, but please don’t feel like you have to stick to that: I’d be happy with anything that taps into that quality h/c material.

Cordelia and Gaius were my first MVP pair-up and I never forgot. I am weak to knight/knave ships, and I love the gentle ribbing of their support line (“I'll take a yes out of laziness. I'm not picky” might be my favorite FE marriage proposal). It doesn’t hurt that they tap right into those neglected kid discovering what it’s like when other people actually give enough of a shit to care about the dirty clothes feels.

Cordelia and Maribelle I ship mostly on the basis of their Summer Scramble support, which has always read very ‘two lesbians getting overly competitive over their totally 100% platonic no homo bffs’ to me. I simply think they should keep escalating the competitiveness until they somehow end up dating. Also: crime-fighting girlfriends! What kind of trouble do Maribelle’s efforts to reform the justice system land them into?

As for (Gaius & Maribelle)/Cordelia, honestly, I’m just really into V polyships, and assorted scenarios where A & B bond over their mutual love for C. This is very much a shoot-for-the-moon request so I’d be thrilled with anything!

I am so delighted by how much these two respect and trust each other even when they're at their most antagonistic, how they flirt and argue, how defensive and protective Biggles is of von Stalhein, how much von Stalhein admires and envies Biggles, they have an excellent Best Enemies dynamic - and then they become friends. Something set when they're enemies, when they're 'very good friends', in the awkward bit in between, something just based on Flies East or on any other bit of canon, an AU - you can't go wrong here. The tagset was full of fun highly specific enemy h/c prompts, but if you have a totally different idea then go for it. And by all means bring in the rest of the cast if you like.

I love a confident healthy self-aware Sirius taking care of a guilt-ridden Severus. I love Sirius as a manifestation of Snape's past that he needs to reach catharsis with. I LOVE a Sirius who decides the best way to make up for all the bullying he put Snape through is to fucking take care of that mess of a man. I love Severus getting physically hurt and being used to nursing his own wounds, but cannot this time because of how serious the injury, and having to rely on someone else. I love slow tender kisses, and sex as a vehicle for building trust.
I love characters who have never experienced love being loved unconditionally. I love injury recovery as a metaphor for healing of past transgressions, of redemption through physical pain, and catharsis with moral and emotional issues through comfort. I love smut (please no G rated fics).

I'm terribly obsessed with Draco's SS scar and equally obsessed with Harry being obsessed with it too ;) I like a stubborn Draco who hides his emotional vulnerability behind an awful personality, but who opens up under the right conditions and enough "pressure". I like a self-confident Harry who is better adjusted than Draco who can help him discover the layers of feelings he's spent his life hiding. I like a Draco who is, underneath it all, a very scared broken person. I like when Draco feels lost and rudderless in the post-war world, and reconnects with Harry unexpectedly, expected the rivalry they had and discovering an emotional connection instead. I love stories that deal with their unpleasant history in a thoughtful, healing way. I like Draco being ashamed of his Dark Mark and his SS scar, and Harry unintimidated by both. I like my Draco Down and Out and my Harry thriving.
I love BSDM relationships with these characters particularly. Sub Draco seeking out pain and punishment but finding security and safety in caring Dom Harry instead.
